Briefly went over with you, Check, in game. But here's the more detailed version:
Skilling Expansion: Point System
Reasoning:
With skills being at their early stages, this idea is to implement a way of simply creating a diverse experience to skilling that makes it more enjoyable and gives each skill more purpose. With that, let's begin.
Overview:
With Check starting to add more higher tier options to skilling and even some alternate options, I think this would be a good addition to go with it. I am definitely looking for feedback to this, because there are a lot of different paths this can go down, just curious as to which is best and how we can go about that. Some of my current ideas - all which need expansion on at this point and are open to any suggestions and ideas.
* General *
- With the new high tier alternatives, (Gem rocks, rainbow fish, dramen trees, etc...) I think it would be a grand idea to give them more of a reason of being there other than faster xp rates and/or items that really only have 1 other purpose. So now I propose having these alternatives have a rare chance of giving an item that would be used for something else.
For example: You're fishing rainbow trout, and suddenly in your inventory you have gotten a "fishing trophy" (ID:26, tradeable) You're super excited because you know there's only a 1/250 chance of getting that item while fishing. With your fishing trophy now, you exchange it with the new Skiller Shop for "Skilling Points". At this shop you have lovely cosmetics for the skillers fashionscape, as well as unique items for each skill that will occasionally double skill XP earned or double amount of resources harvested depending on the skill.
For the Dev:
I would love to sit down and hash out all the items, their ID's, percentages, NPC's and any other exacerbating things that may be involved with this to make it go smoother for you.
For the Players:
Is something that would help truly expand skilling and give it more of a reason?
Would maybe one of the things you can buy with skill points be access to a skilling zone add more incentive as well?

Thank you all for your time and response on this thread
